Thumbs down New BMW 7-Series

Saw the new 7-Series in person over the weekend at the dealership and came away thinking "Does this really look like the top of the line Bimmer?" The answer is "No."

The car is too small! The headlights look like they are from the Buick Rendevous. The trunk look like they just took parts from other cars, it's hedious! I just can't believe BMW is actually producing this thing.

I mean what's w/ the normally conservative German marques lately? Look at Porsche...they are making the "Cayenne" an SUV. Who would buy a Porsche SUV. Didn't they learn anything from the 914.

I sure hope this is a phase, in the mean time it's old body styles for me!

All I can say is that the designs had better translate into increased sales!

Otherwise the executive-level staff in both camps will too, be a "phase"!

I saw it in person and thought it was even worse in person than in the pictures.

Even uglier than the exterior than the car (if that were not possible) was the way the interior looks.

Oh well, look at it this way...

With the recent bad press MB is getting about quality, maybe they still have an opportunity to redeem themselves...

I had a look at one at the dealer the other day and I thought it was fantastic. The interior quality is amazing, as good as an Audi.

I just followed a brand-new 7 2 days ago for about 30 minutes. Astoundingly ugly car, the AMC Pacer of this millennium.

Chris Bangle should be making sure his resume is current...but delete this most recent position, since he's botched it pretty bad

I've just seen it in the magazines, but I like the way it looks. Very modern.
