I'm thinking it'd be a good idea to save a link to this video for future use - the next time the resident LWNJ's and RWNJ's start another hissy fit cat fight political thread, post said link as appropriate to remind them that in a lot of people's eyes, there's not a dime's worth of difference between them.

Notice how much activity this thread doesn't have from the usual suspects.

I would love to chime in, but I gave up after about 50 "What if's". Did the judge ever get to the point? I skipped ahead to where he asks, "What if the media ignore Ron Paul because he doesn't fit the mould?", or some such. I frankly found that part slightly offensive. Ron Paul gets at least as much media attention as he deserves. To the extent he gets ignored, it is because once you get outside of a relatively small group of adherents, the country has no interest in his odd views on governance. It's one of the few times the media seems so show some good sense, IMHO.

My question was sincere - Did he ever get to the point? If so, what was it? I hope it wasn't that the two parties are really the same, because that's a bunch of crap.

This is the second time tonight that I get to use this link: Stereotypes Are A Real Time-Saver | The Onion - America's Finest News Source I agree that there is not a dime's worth of difference between the parties. The difference is much greater than that. So, the next time LWNJ's get in a hissy fit with RWNJ's, ignore them or explain why they are wrong. Just a suggestion.

Whatever "the point" was I think he was trying to make his point. I don't think he was trying to say both parties were the same. Instead he was offering examples of how both parties renege on their promises and end up doing things that the "other" party.

Did you mean to say "does" at the end of that sentence? If so, then he's got a good point. I deduct style points, though, for excessive "what if's". I do so with full knowledge that what he does is much harder than it looks. I expect that I would get ripped to shreds were I to attempt that sort of thing. That said, I found his approach annoying well before the half-way mark of the video.

I usually don't post in the evenings, because I have this thing called "a life". Get one.

The reason this thread has low traffic and replies is because-

1- People don't watch the video because he isn't slinging either party's favorite cliches about the other party that each party loves listening to.
2- One actually has to think for themselves rather than just buy in to the slinging of mud; be it "smaller government" from the right or "have the rich pay their fare share" from the left.
3- It doesn't evoke emotion because of #1 & #2.
