St Patrick's day parade!

I went to the one in New Haven today..OMFG what a party!

Let me rewind, as Justin knows I started drinking last night with my friends and we were rolling about 10 deep. Than I woke up this morning at 8:30 to guys rolling in the apartment with green beer, funnels, and kegs, along with lots of girls.

So I started drinking at about 9am this morning and have been well preserved since than. It was like college, I haven't funneled a beer in years!

The party down town was off the wall, we hit a nice Irish pub off the radar, and the freaken New Haven police band rolled in with bag pipes and drums after the parade and brought down the walls. Very loud and very cool Did I mention I have been drinking since 9am? Beer.. it was everywhere...just everywhere...

I'm a very special kind of drunk now...I'm pretty sure my blood is flammable.... Good night, and oh I love St Patrick's day!

NYPD Emerald Society Bagpipes Live Binghamton, NY March 6, 2010 - YouTube

It was like that, they just walked in and drowned all the noise out while taking over.

Did I mention the beer flowed like water?

If sleep is for pussies, I better by myself some tampons, cuz I loves me some sleep. It's the only time I don't have to listen to myself.

Exclamation St. Patrick's day ... It's a REALLY big deal in San Francisco too

Because it is FULL of Irish, natives, immigrants, legal and illegal, and a aven.
the illegals can speak English, so jobs for the men are easy to get in construction and as nannies for the girls.

It's celebrated ALL ovber town but the mecca is along Oute Geary "The Great Irish Way" that goes all the wayout to the Beach.

The SFPD gets in on the fun, but NOT how you'd think:

One year I remember going to what was then (I have been away from SF since late '04) Pat "O Shea's Mad Hatter ( "We cheat tourists and drunks" )

And naturally the SFPD is owned by the Irish and a huge contingent of Police showed up at Pat's. They used SFPD barricades to block off the #3 and #4 lanes there so they could park their squad cars there. And they were ALLL outside of their units, in uniform having a GOOD time. If I recfall they drank in uniform and had fun too!!

Pat's gave out free corned beef and cabbage and of course, POTATO (potatoes --- they ARE Irish, right? lol salad.

Inside it was a madhouse, beer everywhere, even got on the floor, which by the time I got in there was mixed in all over the floor with potato salad, and people were slipping ALL over it and falling down.

It was REALLY funny to see it --until YOU yourself fell down in the mess. (Lucky for me I didn't).

Good times! Good times in San Fran on St. Paddy's day!

Yeah, New Haven is a good time-but with a couple of boys in a fife and drum corps marching in the parade- my bar hopping time is limited. Had a few at the Anchor yesterday.

The first time the boys marched they got an eye-opener regarding college students and booze. They thought puking was for sick people and wanted to know what was wrong with some of the spectators....

They are starting early this year, it seems. Can't drink it all in 1 day, I suppose.

I didn't say anything about the Irish. St. Patrick's day in this country is celebrated by people of all national and ethnic backgrounds. Your comment is offensive.

YO!

I am Bavarian. Born & raised on the bottle. It's an obligatory custom to dip a child's (mostly boys) nose/face into the foam crown of a freshly filled beer mug.

My personal thesis since over a decade and tasting most any major domestic beer brew: I drank enough beer! I fulfilled my quota already a long time ago.

Prosit!

X2

In Native American populations, alcohol is broken down and eliminated differently than in other populations. Tie that in with poverty, you have a recipe for disaster.

Who knows what kind of distillate the White Bastards handed to those Indians.
