Ford Ranger Idle Stumble

This morning I took my '00 Ford ranger out and at every stop light my idle would stumble quite badly like it wanted to cut out... I've looked over the major things... Plugs/wires there is a miss I can hear but dont know whats causing it. I've not gone through with carb cleaner looking for air/vac leaks yet. that is sundays fun. anything else I should look at?

3.0L V6 Engine, has 107-108K

IAC and a heavy Seafoam treatment...

Check the IAC and TPS, making sure both are within normal voltage range before replacing anything...the parts aren't cheap.

I'd use propane for leak checking. As to idle, I'd try for the leaks first and if that doesn't do it, go for the next things. Get MAF cleaner and clean the MAF and the throttle body especially the IAC. If that doesn't cure it, take the injectors off and have them sent to CorvetteInjectors.com for a cleaning and testing. I don't like to try clean them since you have no clue as to what the injector is really doing as far as it working and how well. IIRC, $15 per injector so it isn't too bad if you are going to keep the car

Does it do it in cold startup or warm idle?

First thoughts

Idle Air Control is first on my list (happened on my 98 4.0 and is a bolt on fix) $20 on Ebay

Intake Manifold Gasket (there are 2 one on the top and one on the bottom) bottom usually goes first. Try using a squirt bottle filled with water and as it is idling and stumbling spray a stream (not a mist) at the edge of the gasket. If it stops stumbling that is your problem. R&R is easy just be careful to torque the bolts evenly .

Coil pack wire leads arcing. When it is dark, open the hood and let it idle and look for the glow when the wire insulation break arcs to the block.

I am sure this has something to do with my on going issue. my question is, What is it? I know I need to repair the hose, does whatever this is require clamps on them?

Also, plug wires check out. no arcs

It's more likely a vacuum leak of some kind. Are there any codes set? When was the last time the EGR valve was cleaned?

the two big lines going to that block look like leaks to me... There are no codes thrown. I was expecting a misfire code at the very least... but nothing. OBD says nada

Or a TPS they wear out regularly and should be replaced maybe 2-3 times less often as a oxygen sensor

There's a bunch of smart guys around here. They can figure out what is wrong with a car over the internet. I have to get my hands on 'em before I can know for sure.

I'd fix the hose leaks first.

If you want to be sure go for it and visit him. In the meantime, short of bringing it to a mechanic for every little thing, there can be some simple common issues you can look at first. I would personally try air leaks, plugs and fuel injectors which probably have to be fixed anyways.

Those lines are for the DPFE sensor (senses EGR gas flow). Not likely to cause a drivability problem; just a check engine light with EGR codes. No hose clamps were ever used on these lines. They are a special hi-temp material (look to be silicone) and are available pre-cut at the dealer.

As far as your original problem, I can only echo what the others have said so far: Dirty/defective MAF, intake leaks, especially the upper intake. A great help would be if you had access to a scan tool that gives live data and look for sensor readings/fuel trims that are out of whack.
