I think it has been done before. Never by a single person though to my knowledge that is very limited.

John Fairfax.

He recently passed, but seemed like he really put a lot of living in his life.:D

I saw one of those cross-Atlantic rowing boats in a museum somewhere. May have been in Halifax, NS--Barry is it there??

To get to the other side?

I have a little book called "the voyage of Tinkerbell" about a fellow who sailed across the atlantic in a 14' wooden sail boat that he bought half rotted away and rebuilt. It is a wonderful true story. I recommend it. Written in 1957 or so.

I have a good friend who plans to row from Monterrey CA to Hawaii. He is cycling, walking and paddling to all 50 state capitals at the age of 50 to raise awareness of childhood obesity/hunger. Although really he's doing it because he wants to.
