83 BMW 528e starting problems

I have replaced everything in the ignition except the ICU/ECU and the crank sensors, that includes coil, wires, plugs, cap and rotor.

Sometimes it the coil produces a spark and sometimes it does not. When it runs it idles a little rough.

Can you check the crank sensor to make sure it is not open circuit. I had the same situation on a 92 318i one time and it ended up being the ecu (the crank sensor had already been replaced). Installed a good used one off of ebay and it started right up.
