Don't carry cash in TN....

Robbery by police, plain & simple..... Another reason why you should NEVER 1) talk to the police 2) Allow them to search your vehicle

As I've said before, asking some people to read on this forum might as well be asking them to perform their own root canal.

not to worry, they can always plant drugs in your car then call in the dogs. Next thing you know, your car is seen in the "DARE" program and you are walking.

I can see cash being stolen if you're stupid enough to tell about it. But do you really think they'd descend to illegal activity like planting drugs when there are a lot of easy targets?

Glad that NY basically forbids it without a trial (i.e. they can't say "the property is guilty, and since it's not a person, it's not entitled to a trial like in rem states).

Apparently in NY even property is entitled to some solid sack time.

Cool.

This was taking place in Oklahoma a year or so ago just southeast of Tulsa. The Cops there were pulling over anyone who looked Hispanic and shaking them down.

The FBI set up a sting operation and now several of the Cops are doing ten years for extortion.

That's what happens when you forget to cut in the feds for a piece of the action.

Unfortunately most people volunteer too much when confronted with what they assume to be superior authority. Your mouth is your enemy when in doubt.

some years back the cops were doing it in Florida to hispanics. They would see a nice car (Cadillacs were popular) that they wanted, pull it over, plant the evidence then seize the car. It went on for awhile until the FBI shut it down.
