This year is my 10 year reunion from High School... I'm not going. I grew up in a small town. I'm going to park my rear on a bar stool at the local bar and see who shows up. I'll be there with a few of my friends.

Looking back I've also been at the same job for the past 10 years. Started this Job after high school and started by being the go-for at the office. Now I'm in the drafting department. Wow 10 years goes by fast.

I just watched this video of a High School graduation. There is more truth in this then what I heard at my graduation.

‘You’re not special’ graduation speech sparks buzz | The Lookout - Yahoo! News

PS got my Mercedes from my dad when I started my job. Some things don't change.

My 40th HS reunion is coming up. I am really torn about what to do. I haven't seen most of them for that long, or almost that long. At this point, what IS the point...

My 10 year reunion was a lot of fun. Everyone was pretty laid back and ready to party.

The 20 was just one big "I've been more successful than you" get together. Then the 30 was back to everyone just enjoying reminiscing and partying.

I missed the forty due to a Mercedesshop Tech Session in Mt.Vernon, Texas. The fifty is only five years away and it should be fun for those of us still left.

Don't miss any of them though.

I only went to the 10th, which I enjoyed. Just passed on a chance to go to the 40th. Didn't really have the time for the trip (700 miles) anyway.

I think they become more fun the further away from high school you get. I've been to only one of mine. I realized then that there was a good reason why I hadn't seen any of those people for 20 years. This year is my 40th. I might go . . .

Well I did miss a few, but I did the 15th (1965) the 20th (1970) then missed the 25th and 30th but picked it up again for the 35th, 40th, and big number 50. Even the principle was able to attend that one in 2000. I always seem to be at long distance from them as they are (usually) in NW Iowa, (Sioux County) and even with the interstate it is a huge one day drive from here in God's Country to way out there. But enjoyable it always is. I am going to try very hard to get to the next one, the 65th in 2015. We keep that cute little Jaguar in the garage mostly, going to have to use it some day.

A number of years ago I got talked into going to my 20th, having skipped the others. I instantly knew why I'd skipped the ones before. Same goofy cliques, none of my former girlfriends looked good and were married to fat bald guys who were dentists or something. I realized that if I'd given even the tiniest crap about any of these dipsticks in the previous 20 years I'd have stayed in touch with them, likewise them for me. I had a bad whiskey and left.
Most of the people I hung out with were either in jail or dead. I shoulda realized that before polishing my boots unnecessarily.

The hell with it. School was oppressive, boring and chock full of hypocrisy. I've never regretted leaving it when I did.

I missed the 10th...I had a business to run.

I made the 20th...what a waste of a night that turned out to be. The jocks were still picking on the one geek that they targeted in HS. My buddy and I stepped up and pulled him out of a potentially embarassing situation in front of his wife. He's still geeky, but he's turned out to be a person I now call a friend.

I doubt I'll go to anymore...Nothing but a bunch of fake, lying, morons and ditzy soccer moms now. Not mine, nor my wife's, idea of a good night.

I hated HS and hope I can fly under the radar enough to never even get a notice of one, because I rather get a cavity drilled than go.
