I just gave a recycler friend of mine two 600lb color copiers that had probably had 150lbs of aluminum in each one. I was glad because he moved them out of my shop and I didn't have to pay him. I think we both won on this deal.

What a great afternoon! My usual yard that I go to buy from-west tex metals on north main was closed I guess because of fathers day.
I ended up going to the big rabid yard on FAR north Main in Ft Worth, I got about 40 more than I was expecting--- But leaving town I was crossing a side street--- Stockyards Blvd, When I discovered Ft Worth got even greater ----3 YRS AGO, and I didn't know it.........
Check the Texas Bar-bque thread.

I have a good pile of aluminum stuff to take to the scrapper. If I take aluminum wheels do I have to pull the valve stems?

I assume if it has the steel inserts at the lug holes I cannot get clean aluminum price without taking them out.

Anybody ever taken them out?

They did not notice the inserts--its like 10 cents per pound with other metal mixed in. I just cut the tyres off and the stems
