What is the President hiding behind "Executive Privilege"?

Fast and Furious and OCDETF - Andrew C. McCarthy - National Review Online

Kind of a long article but worth reading to understand the context the administration finds itself operating within. First the lie then the cover-up, sometimes you have to wonder if these guys ever learn? Or do they always think that the previous guy who was caught just wasn't as accomplished a liar as they are in the similar situation?

If Issa were doing his job then the world would know far more about this than we do now.

As soon as it came out that Bush ran the same program Issa suddenly found other things that needed doing more. Now that the election is near and Issa knows he cannot take this further without dragging Bush into it he is hot on the trail of nothing.

But it does get folks stirred up and makes them forget that Republicans told the voters that if they did not get things fixed by now then they should be voted out.

So I say support the Republican Party and vote them all out.

It's what they really want you to do, and they said so themselves.

AFAIK, this is untrue. "Wide Receiver" was similar to, but different enough from 'Fast and Furious" that it cannot be said that "Bush ran the same program."

One of the things that has puzzled me since they started blaming Bush, is that since the program was so bad, WHY did they continue it?

Bush admin had tracking devices installed on a few guns and allowed few out. Obama admin apparently did not install tracking devices and allowed many thousands of guns across the border.

Bush admin shut down the project in 2007 as a failure. Obama admin started their prom in 2009.

Issa began investigating and the admin stonewalling over a year ago. The administration could have avoided election year politics by recognizing the congressional role of oversight and granting full access to requested docs.

Aside from that ....

Damn, there goes plausible deniability.

Quote:
(CNSNews.com) - Three and a half years before he invoked executive privilege in refusing to hand over to Congress internal Justice Department documents about Operation Fast and Furious--and just eight days before his inauguration--President-elect Barack Obama met with Mexican President Calderon over lunch at the Mexican Cultural Institute in Washington, D.C., and “pledged” that he would take action aimed at stopping the flow of guns into that country from the United States.
Public statements from both Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano demonstrate that they were both personally working on this issue from their first month in office.
Explaining the pledge that Obama made to Calderon at their Jan. 12, 2009 lunch, incoming White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs released a statement that day indicating that Obama would ask incoming Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to lead part of the administration’s effort in stopping the movement of guns to Mexico.

You have no exclusive right to know what is going on in an on going Congressional investigation.

Black Jesus is doing enough to stir his own party the wrong way so I think he won't need any help to vote him out.

Good grief. You do your argument no good with that 'black jesus' reference.
It's no better than that degrading 'chimp' crap directed at Bush. We can be better.

Why?

Is there another thread about the DOJ OCDETF designation and implimentation parameters?

Are you somehow impacted or possibly traumatized after some imaginary threshhold of threads containing similar words is approached, met or exceeded?
