I can't vouch for every point with every religious leader, but it's largely accurate. Jesus was far from the first to jump out of a virgin womb, arise from the dead and play various other assorted parlor tricks.

Info on Mithraism in that piece is pretty dubious from what I know. Mithras may have been seen as competition for Christianity but the exactly details of the cult are not known with any strong degree of certainty. Looks like someone just wants to show that Christianity is not that unusual.

Its a well know fact that the tale of Jesus and the writings of the "Bible" are recycled stories from other older religions. This is nothing new and has been know since Jesus was "born".

I was there for each of them. They were like Prototype, Vers 1.0, Vers 1.1, etc. Then Final Edition. Then an unauthorized completely revised version. People still have the same operating system throughout and so they argue about which version is better.

It's not a well-known fact, it's a well-known, widely accepted supposition. There is no proof of dependency.

This board needs a 'like" button. So many opportunities to add utterly useless, but contextually meaningful "oooohhhh!!! ooohhhhh! oooooohhhhhh!" commentary to such deep, meaningful threads.

1. How did anyone verify virginity? I know that in some movie, the girl didn't bust her hymen so the guy cut his hand and draped the bloody sheets to prove virginity. However, girls have busted the hymen and today, even been able to "restore" it for that "first time" feeling for the guy.

2. Can the girl be a virgin and get pregnant? Why not? A couple fooling around but no penetration and if there is ejaculate near the vagina, can get the girl pregnant and she is still a virgin.
