Never seen a case before where the FBI gets involved with mere diagnostics in this kind of case. Imo it is waaaaaaaay beyond creepy that they would involve themselves in a way where they are reviewing the contents of potentially 10s of millions of computers.

Very odd.

Maybe it really isn't a virus. Maybe the FBI wanted to actually snoop through millions of computers without legal recourse, by simply planting a "Orson Wells War of the Worlds" story tactic...
