Wow, bipartisan posturing over an inconsequential matter.

Yea, but one that scores points. Wander if those politicians tell their maids not to shop at Wally Mart (?)

In my opinion this shows how out of touch the US politicians are in regards to the ways of the world nowadays. It is a GLOBAL economy and not just a US economy. It will be so good when all the old timers in congress with their narrow minded way of thinking are put out to pasture. It is no wonder things are the way they are with this type mentality. I am of the impression that the majority of them are like this. Take John Barrow (rep for my area) for example. He is so out of touch with what is going on among the unwashed masses it is pitiful.

True it is a global economy, but you'd think one of those idiots in DC would have enough common sense to have the uniforms made in his district bringing work and votes to him. I realize too the the Olympic Committee is the one ordering but alas, who said we need common sense to run our country.

I agree! Here we are drowning in almost $16T in debt with millions upon millions of Americans out of work and Reid gets wrapped around the axle over the actions of a PRIVATE organization.

Of course, getting to a microphone about such a thing is one more way to deflect attention away from Reid's and B.O.'s failed economic measures, or lack thereof.

agree with the first part. However, all roads do not lead to Obama, id actually bet hes kind of cringing at the silliness of this, since it really serves to make the US look idiotic in front of the world, right before the olympics.

Its a private organization, it can do whatever it wants in relation to outfitting the team as its done for years, as the article points out, and the humiliating part is this stupidity will impact the actual olympics as usual.

Who wants to take bets on the US olympic team member who decides he won't wear the team uniform as a statement of patriotism?

I hate it when the hypocrisy gets ankle deep.

case in point.

Ask any foreigner if the US looks more idiotic under Obama or Bush. Tell me what you learn.

Obama has come a long way back towards giving the US some credibility internationally, but not as far as the prestige we one had before Bush.

Of course it is this way. This is because B.O. is willing to bow to foreign leaders and kiss their A$$ while GW stood his ground and stood up for America. No one likes an opponent that actually stands his ground and sticks up for his own people!

Geesh!

you mean the same Bush who used up international goodwill to the US committing a "coalition of the willing" of over 40 countries to military action in Iraq?

The same Bush who decided to tread on dozens of international treaties with foreign powers?

The same Bush who turned out to have faulty intelligence about weapons of mass destruction, but still strong armed and convinced plenty of countries that because the US was the US, we knew correctly, and when he turned out to be wrong, made the US look preposterous?

The same Bush who made a laughingstock out of his own name, after Bush senior did such a great job in the Gulf War, forever sullying his fathers excellent actions?

I don't consider honoring an international treaty "bowing to foreign leaders and kissing their a$$". I consider ignoring it an assault upon my countries honor, since it indicates we will not honor our word.

Sounds as if you are quite willing to have the US presented as a bowing down underdog. Sorry, but I'm an American Veteran. I don't cotton to that sort of wimpy crap.

Every time I write about this I have the horrible vision in my head of B.O. bowing to Muslim leaders. Sorry, that's not the America as I want to see it. If you go for such wimpy statesmanship then that's fine. You're free to present America as wimpy as you care to.
