No matter what you're driving, make sure you wind your way down Lombard street.

On Van Ness Avenue near Clay Street is ther Academy of Art stuffed to the gills with classic Duesenbergs, Rolls Royces, Auburns, Cords, and multi million dollar American cars and a few foreign ones.

It is private though, I got in through a friend who had me as a guest of the Rolls Royce Club that had a big lunch there recently. Don't know if you can coiax your way in...

I have to drop off a E320 Sportline today bgut when that is done I am driving to LA tomorrow, if your schedule allows you some time Friday AM I could give you a fast quickie tour in the SEC possibly. Like some of what Tom W & wife saw with me recently this month. PM me if interested

Jim

TheDon, if you're in Oakland, drive down 580 to the 680 junction, then go north on 680 to Blackhawk and visit the car museum there. Take the camera, video camera and snacks because you'll be there for a while and will want the memories recorded. Dang, if I could get a day off I'd come join you!

Dang it! I knew there had to be a good car museum in the area but my best efforts to find one did not succeed!

True, I do wish I'd known about the Blackhawk Museum when my uncle was alive. He was a car guy from way back and would have been over the moon at their collection. Ever heard of a Delahaye? They have a few...quite rare. GT40? Yes. And so many more besides.

Pay the $5 bucks and cross the bay, Its a one way fee, Make sure you take a drive up to the top of Twin Peaks, you just drive up Market street out of town, once you pass Castro area you will see signs for it. also go to the north Golden gate bridge park and go see Fort Barry, both locations I listed have really neat roads that lead in and out of them.

I've seen some sweet cars, few w123's. I miss my 300D.
