Bought my first Mac

I got a deal on the latest gen iMac for $500. I pick it up tonight. Looking forward to playing around with it.

I got a free G5 iMac a few years ago from Criaglist. Swapped out 5 capacitors and it was good as new.

Don't worry about JP, he's just mad about his iPad, or iPod, or iPhone, or something. You got a great deal. Enjoy it and thanks for not calling it a MAC.

sent from my 9 year old Powerbook G4 17".

Leopard and G5 will be a horrible mac experience; Leopard was written for Intel and new applications won't work. The only reason I can think of for a G5 is if you use it as a server.

Yeah, you're stuck with Tiger I think.

Cracking the case on an iMac must be fun

10.4.11 is the most my Powerbook will run. I use it all the time even though there are newer MacBooks and an iPad in the house. It's fine for everyday use although I guess there'd be issues with an iPod. I don't use one. I am thinking of putting a solid state drive in it. They're getting cheaper all the time. I can get an 80g drive for under a hundred bucks. This 17 inch aluminum is my winter thigh warmer.
