Quite a birthday for me...

Took a huge roll of the dice on a 2005 E500 4matic wagon traded into a Mercedes dealer in Mississippi. Poor photos, no mention of the mechanical condition, and nobody at the dealership seemed to know much about it other than being traded in and cosmetically beat up. Sold totally as-is for $8000, currently 92k on the odometer.

Transporter shows up and says "you know it doesn't run, right?" Battery was cold dead, so we had to push it off the truck. Jumped it with my Roadmaster, and it still wouldn't start. A gallon of fuel and she cracked right on! Needs both batteries, a signal marker, and easy repair cosmetics, but otherwise really nice.

Of course you bought a car on your birthday! What else would a good car nerd do?

Happy birthday. It sounds like a very interesting car!
