Messages from Images Observed

I just saw an advertisement on TV for a talk show in which the host is of a well-publicized sexual preference.

If you didn't know from a written news account what a particular celebrity's sexual preferences were, could you tell from a photo or video?

After thinking about it I have decided I couldn't be certain but I think I would have an uncertain set of clues that would lead me to a tentative conclusion.

If this commentary makes sense, what do you think?

Is this reasonably generalizable?

What are it's ramifications if generalized?

What is the relevance of a talk show host's sexual preferences? Or a guest on such a show. Or any celebrity or person in the news. Or any . . .

I think what he is pondering is;
What would happen if you could pick the gay person out of the lineup?

I think you look and see clues, but they are not always correct.

It seems that most young people just know when someone is gay. I can't tell. Fortunately I grew up in a time, when they minded their own business and staid in the closet. Now that they have taken the "in your face" approach to the whole thing, the ones that don't come out and tell you, I don't know the difference, nor do I WANT to know the difference.

If they just go off and do whatever nastiness they want to with their "partner" and shut up about it, why do I NEED to know? Why don't they just STFU and mind their own business?

women seem to have the gay-dar. I can usually not tell. I really like this particular singer from chile and I had a suspicion that he might be gay. Following him on instagram has put no doubt in my mind that he is. It doesnt really matter though. I still like his music.

I've always thought that gay men always dressed nicer than non-gay men.

My gay-dar is pretty weak. I have picked men who acted very effeminately to be gay, only to be told that was not the case and assumed others were straight, based upon their more overtly masculine behavior. Same with women, although I probably guess correctly who the lesbian is more often than I guess the gay male.

At this point, though, it doesn't matter to me anyhow. Once I really questioned my original prejudice towards gays, I realized I did not personally care what another person's sexual preference was. My attitude prior to that was just a feature of the narrow-minded, homophobic culture in which I was raised.

Contrary to what I thought would be the case, when I was younger, I seem to be growing much more tolerant and accepting the older I get. So, maybe I've made a little progress as a human being . . . .

I've noticed that as a general rule, single sex couples are far more likely to freely spend their hard earned cash without trying to bicker down the price.
I like that!

There are also other psychological maladies that commonly accompany their behavior. Everyone insists that they are born with their desires, so IF that is correct, it stands to reason that they are born with other maladies to go along with it.

Wow, your an accomplished human behaviorist too . . . impressive.

People, regardless of their sexual orientation, are subject to all sorts of maladies, as you label them.
