Just another day in the life of non extreme people.

Little girl could die because she may have tore a page out of a book. Does this bother you? If not, why not? If so, why so?

I say "non extreme" because if a large portion of a group endorses the action then it's not extreme to them now is it? Since is it law I'd further contend it's "normal" for Muslims in this country.

Yes it bothers me. They are a sovereign country so I do not see any thing that we can do other than to with hold aid. My understanding is we need them because of our involvement in Iraq.

What large portion are you talking about? Was there a poll?

Are you sure the beliefs of one country/sect/regions reflect the beliefs of all? Can we apply that same standard to Catholic for example? How about the Christians who bomb abortion clinics? Militia members here in the US? A large portion of the US endorsed the invasion and occupation of Afghan and Iraq. Does that mean we all do?

I hope you have your spiked shoes on because that is one hell of a slope you are on.

Examples of religious extremism always bother me. "Legitimate rape" bothers me too.

Religious fundamentalism is terrible. Giving religion the force of the power of government to enforce its mandate compounds the terrible.

Actually, the government sent it's goons to detain her. The government created the laws enabling such an action. The government is now deciding the fate of the girl. Remove the monopoly of force, and see if some random jackass wants to try killing an 11 year old girl. Remove the perpetual propaganda and social engineering that only the state can provide and see if the parents don't use any force necessary to defend their child. As if only religious regimes do this. How many children in Pakistan has the US government killed recently, for not doing anything but live there? Sheep.

Plenty of crazy people. Non-religious even! But hey, if I were in love with being a slave I would try to do everything, including perfect 10 mental gymnastics, to justify everything my lord the government did, too.

I agree but what is extreme here? It's extreme to many of us- do you think it's extreme to them?

And mouthbreathing americans think this:

is normal. What's your point? You're all being conned and enjoy your bondage. That's the common ground with the 'muzzies', yet you all can't just get along.
