My commute in 12 minutes

Got a new toy, so I had to do something fun. My 1hr commute in 12 minutes. 4x realtime speed. Not a bad commute compared to some...just need a 500E.

Maybe you should think before posting a video of you being a jerk to other drivers.

Tailgating, excessive speeding, passing over a double yellow, and rolling through countless stop signs.

You are one of the reasons I don't like telling people I drive a Mercedes.

I guess tail-gaiting and crossing over a double line could be shown in the video, but how do you verify the claim of "excessive speeding"? It's not like you are looking at his speedometer. But I didn't notice much tail-gaiting, in fact it looked to me as if he was following the 2-second rule at most times.

Man...I was all pumped up to see some real jerkish driving.. what a let down...

First car with a blinker I thought had a bulb out until I remembered it was sped up...

Then the gas station... first reaction was "what a long way to go for a job at a gas station..."

Awful lot of two lane road, must be fun getting stuck behind the slow people.

Maybe I should show my commute in 12 minutes.. it would be real time.

The movie is at 4X, I don't drive a spaceship, a 300E only has 177HP, remember?

I drive aggressive but courteously. And I stopped at all of those stop signs, the last one was a bit of a rolling stop .....report me.

Hard to tell really. When you were behind someone else that stopped, you were stopped as well. By yourself......... not that easy to say. But if you say so, OK.

Man you drive a route that a snake couldn't follow.

Well there's a reason it's at 4X . The angle of the camera also throws off stopping distances from the viewers perspective. I stop AT the sign, but at that camera angle it looks i'm stopped halfway through the intersection.

It sometimes feels like I just got back from the amusement park by the time I get there.

But I just found out today that I won't be having to make that commute for much longer. Moving closer!

Your area looks like Marysville/Yuba?

Where are you moving to?

Still would like to G2G for some coffee/lunch one day!

Scandalous!

You ought to slow down the "city" driving and speed back up the "country" driving and title it "My commute at 160 mph!"

It's pretty neat to see the transition from urban to suburban to rural and back again.

I was estimating the speed by the time it took him to go a certain distance by .083 (=1/12).

And by watching him pass every single car on the road. Unless everyone decided to go at or under the speed limit that day, you can safely assume that he was going quite a bit faster than the speed limit. Watch it again and see if you can find a single car that keeps the same pace as him.

You rolled through most of them, even slowing the video down shows that.

Swerving around and passing every single person is courteous? Passing over a double yellow? Sure... that's not dangerous or illegal at all..

So, everyone that drives a Mercedes should be just like you? Or?
Or Mercedes drivers should be driving a decent speed and following the rules of the road.

Instead you're driving like most newer Merc owners, with the mindset of "hey poor guy! get out of my way! I'm/my time is more important!"

(I actually missed the question on the test because I'd been given the older version of the manual THAT WEEK)
