You should find a 3.3 or 3.5 liter out of a wrecked early 80's 533i or 535i for your Bimmer. It would assumedly cost much less to convert the Bimmer to the "largest BMW engine in the model range when it was a current model" than drop a General Motors V8 in an old Bimmer Five.
Plus, you'd have the refinement of a turbine-like Six, too. -Sam |

I have looked at the 535 and 533s but they are not all that much more powerful and I kind off want a cheaper engine without german wiring. Also as you can tell I like to be driffrent

E28 528e= 121 hp, 170 lb/ft of torque. 0-60 in around 10 seconds with the 5-speed.
E28 535i= 185 hp, 208 lb/ft of torque (and that's before any chip-upgrades or boltons). The reason I'm suggesting this is because I've driven one, and compared to my 380SE, WOW, WHAT A ROCKET! 0-60 in 7.4 seconds with 5-speed. When upgrading your 528E with a Chev V8, you will undoubtedly have to basically replace the whole drivetrain, and move everything around in the Bimmer engine compartment. However...3.5 liter? Drop it in and connect the wiring. Might have to change the engine mounts too, but you could use the stock diff/transmission/driveshaft, etc. But hey, if it's what you wanna do...go for it! -Sam |
