United Nations Small Arms Treaty Passed

We'll have to read it before we know what's in it.

EO for an end around on Congress?

“I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”

Quote:
The United Nations Small Arms Treaty passed in its second session. The Media was silent over its passage.
Concluding its two-week session today, the second United Nations conference to review the 2001 Programme of Action on trafficking in small arms and light weapons adopted a consensus outcome document that highlighted the international community’s renewed commitment to preventing, combating and eradicating the illicit trade.

Treaties are agreements between governments. They don't subject citizens of one country to the laws of another or to those of an outside agency like the U.N.

The Constitution, and acts of congress always trump any treaty with another country. This does nothing to the second amendment.

The U.N. resolution that originally OK'd drafting the treaty recognized the rights of individual nations to regulate their own internal arms transfers. In other words, it doesn't have anything to do with in-country arms sales or ownership.

Looks to me like it'll ultimately be a boon to U.S. gun makers, and not much else.

One good thing about tin foil hats, they keep your hair from catching fire.

That's certainly the liberal view. You might be right, but as you haven't read the treaty there's no way to know it's ramifications. I know, because I tried last night and there is no way you could get thru all that gumpf in one sitting.

Interesting, seems like BATF cuts all sorts reg's that restrict 2nd rights. No one does anything.
Seems like your Hero does end arounds on Congress and the Constitution on a regular basis. No one does anything.
So what would this be? An insurmountable obstacle for Obama?

I'd have to say the camels nose is under the tent now at the minimum.

For the record, all my heroes are dead.
Let me know when they come to get your guns. You're further east than I am and I'll have more time to get ready.
