Thumbs down Bleach filled balloon bombs come whistling through the air @ Univ of Texas

lobbed at minority students of color.

Bleach Balloons Launched At Minority Students At University of Texas

Early Tuesday evening, University of Texas at Austin students and community members gathered under the shadow of the campus's iconic Martin Luther King Jr. statue. The Texas heat was beginning to relent, but fiery emotions in the wake of several violent incidents near campus brought the group together in order to speak out against what many are calling deep, lingering racism on and around campus. Organizers rallied participants at the statue, and two minority students spoke to the group about their recent experiences of being "bleach-bombed." The group then marched toward the West Campus neighborhood.

Over the past few weeks, reports of bleach-filled water balloons thrown from apartments in West Campus have gained attention

OK, everyone chug your beer about 20x then shout out

BLEACH BOMB BALLOONS as fast as you can, 10 times in a row!

Looks like it is a racist place, Texas, even though it's not 1960 anymore.

And Austin is supposedly the most "liberal" city in Texas!

After reading the whole article it's clear there are conflicting reports on exactly who the targets are and no clear definition of who the throwers are. The article certainly uses a large amount of conjecture and assumptions to call this a racially motivated activity.

Thumbs up

A few students having fun.
The ones complaining are just trainee LWNJ's that you find on any campus.

When I was at uni in the 1970's the engineering society raffled a prostitute to raise money for charity.
The LWNJ lesbian feminists had the engineers society kicked out of the students association & did that start the student pranks ! Balloon ink bombs landing on feminists from a great height, power failures when ever the lefties used a meeting room just to mention a couple.
The engineering society was reinstated about a month later to quieten things down.
If it was racist they would be using white paint in white balloons!! Chances are those who were targeted with the bleach needed a wash anyway. Isnt bleach good for getting rid of lice?

So, a potential face full of bleach is just a gentle prank?

How exactly does one fill a balloon with bleach? Are they pumping it in somehow? Is pressurized bleach common in Texas? Or are they just pouring in the few ounces you could get into a limp balloon, and then filling it the rest of the way with water?

Not washing anything- it's a college campus. **** happens. Crazy drunken **** happens. Hormone **** happens. The article had conflicting reports on who the bombers are and who got bombed- if you read the same one posted. If you don't know who the exact bombers are I do not believe you can deduce if the targets were chosen by racial make up- especially since there is a diverse group of targets. Some people's hackles will rise at the mere mention of racism and they will get all excited.

I'd imagine you could use the kind of Super Soaker that runs on air pressure to do the job cheaply. Not sure how well the plastic would stand up to bleach though.

But yeah, throwing bleach on anyone is pretty f-ed up. Bleach in eyes burns like hell. Not fun.
