That might end badly for them both. She won't go quietly.

I believe you are right about that one. She is clever and knows how the ball rolls.

I the end, the govt. will more likely take down a military officer or two.

I'm not sure what you're saying, but it sounds as if you might be indicating that the loss of four American lives due to ignoring security warnings is just no big deal. I hope I'm wrong.

Quite the opposite. I do believe its a big deal and it saddens me. However I don't believe anyone in "management" (on any level) will be held accountable.

"Since retaking control in 2010, House Republicans have aggressively cut spending at the State Department in general and embassy security in particular. Chaffetz and Issa and their colleagues voted to pay for far less security than the State Department requested in 2011 and again this year.

A bit rich

Is that responsible for the tragedy in Benghazi? Probably not, at least not entirely. Usually when security goes wrong, it's down to a cascade of small failures piling up. But it's a bit rich to complain about a lack of US security personnel at diplomatic missions on the one hand, while actively working to cut the budget to pay for US security personnel at diplomatic missions on the other....."

Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Darrell Issa claim the Benghazi consulate sought more security before the deadly attack. They also both voted to cut the State Department's embassy security budget.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! All this time, I thought that it required approval by the Congress, the Senate AND the President to approve budgets!

I am also interested in knowing why the current administration went to such great extremes to pimp the story that this whole ordeal was basically an on-the-spot riot over the movie "Innocence of Muslims." For about a week, the administration beat the drum that the movie and the movie maker are at fault because our buddies in the middle east cannot take critism or parody. Now, the facts point to a terrorist attack, that was planned well in advance, around the time to "celebrate" 9-11. I wonder why the agenda? Facts always seems to spoil a well planned agenda, however. Because of the zillions of folks being aired on TV marching in the streets, I wonder if a weapon's platoon or rifle platoon of Marines would have stopped the attack. I know a bunch of so-called martyers would have met allah at the hands of a group of well trained 0311's, but it looks like the numbers and odds were just too overwhelming. So, if that is the case, why not call the attack just what it was and not try to pin the rap on a really poorly made film -- that appears to have been released in July.

Perhaps they did not want to lay their cards on the table because they wanted a head start to try and find the guys who did it? If people think you are looking for them they are more likely to hide are they not?

Not saying this happened but it is a possibility. Just as likely they were trying to cover their ass or had not clue what really happened until they got more info. Who knows.

Budgets are negotiations. Party A asks for $100, Party B offers $50, they meet at $75 and it all goes to the POTUS to be signed. Since there is no line item veto, you either sign the entire budget or veto it.

Since there has not been a formal budget passed by Congress, I am not sure where the POTUS or the Senate comes into this scenario. As far as I am aware the House controls the purse so if there is not formal budget does anyone know if the Senate voters on this or not?

By the way, Congress is not an individual group. Congress consists of the Senate and the House.

The REASON was that it was someone else to blame. Blaming everything on Bush was starting to get a little old, so they came up with a different scape goat for this one. Now the guys in jail. The Gestapo had nothing on these guys.
