Predictions on upcoming Presidential Debate #2
It's next week.
What are the predictions ? Will B.O. a/k/a B.S. be too polite ? Too polite again ? Will he be more aggressive like Jo-Jo Biden ? Will Mitt R. talk policy and no specifics ? Any real thoughts on the percieved debt crisis? Any thoughts or views out there? The talking heads say Mitt R. "won" the first one. Will Mitt sweep the series ? |

It will depend on any upcoming revelations that come out in the news. Obama doesn't do well under extreme pressure.

Well his advisors will certainly suggest a different tack. Actually Obamas challenger would be unwise to do a simular presentation to his last. So would Obama come to think about it.
I think the Obama will attack if he does. The only wild card I see is if Obama quietly wants out. If things behind the scene are worst than the general public percieves why not let the republicans take the hit that may be on the way. Certainly a little fine tunning is not going to fix things. Or maybe not even a lot. Structural changes are needed not optional and they would be very destructive to any party doing what is really required. I cannot even see the general public embracing them in any way. Everyone wants the old status quo basically rather than dealing with the realities. Without real changes though things may get substantially worse. For example in the present situation with both parties quantitive easing is currently a way of life for the forseeable future. The amount of change required to just stop that is enourmous. The will to even tackle it is not there either. This kind of leaves the senario of it really does not matter much who is elected. |

Frothing at the mouth while grinning like a jackanapes.
Somehow, I can't really feature Dear Leader doing that. Might be fun to watch, though........

Town hall style doesn't permit candidates to address each other--well I think that is the idea.
I'd love to see Romney address the President, resentfully, and say something like, " Ever since our first debate, you hit the campaign trial and called me a liar, would you like to repeat that charge, here to my face, and let me respond?" May not be great advice, but it would make for great TV.

I hope the format is different. The VP one had the candidates sitting too close to each other, resulting in something that looked like one of those gawd-awful talking pundit shows where they keep yelling over each other to make a (mostly lost) point.

I wonder how much Obama would pay for a set of teleprompter contact lenses right about now.

I predict the news media and pundits will determine who wins based on which candidate's story line will positively affect their bottom line.
