Could Wisconsin be given a "UN mandate" to rule Michigan for five years till they get its house in order?

Cordon sanitaire is the answer: Build a 50 foot wall, let no one out for 25 years, then go in and see who's left.

Bad idea. The President's plane might crash there and we'd have to send Snake Pliskin in to get him out.

Turn Detroit into a commercial tax free zone or a huge military base.

The news never bothered be because I expect people to be bad. What happens is not coming as an unpleasant surprise.

Imagine going to a meeting with the boss and being prepared for the worst. If it comes to pass, you have made preparations. If the boss' hot wife took over the meeting and her top off, you just got a pleasant surprise. At least, till the boss walk in.

Step 1: Stay out of Detroit.
Step 2: When in doubt, see Step 1.
Step 3: In the event Steps 1 and 2 fail; bring body armor, ACH, M16/M4, plenty of M855 ball, and plenty of friends with body armor, ACH, M16/M4, and plenty of M855 ball.

This plan has worked successfully for me with other locations such as Iraq and Afghanistan. Still waiting to see how it holds out for Iran, North Korea, etc.

Not a fan of M855 ball. I'd rather use heavier rounds with hollow points or expanding tips for more tissue damage.

I REALLY like the 7,62x39 mm steel core for the Type 68 AK, with periodic tracer and incendiary thrown in. But the old EGA-made ones are good too.

With steel core, you rarely need AP. Plus 40 round mags are better than 75 rd drums, except if you have to fire extended prone and can't use a bipod.

RPD longer barrel is better too. But, I like the lightweight, light-hearted feel of the paratroop style AK, just need the more durable plastic.

Oh, Zytel Israeli-made mags are good too, ya don't need to lube so much.
10 x 40rd mags will pretty much do the trick

I like my AK well enough, but I've finally become a believer in the AR platform. The much better mechanical accuracy and vastly better sights converted me. You just have to clean and lube the thing a lot more often to keep it reliable. While the terminal ballistics are probably considerably better with the 7.62x39 assuming an equal impact point, you're much more likely to hit with the AR, and a hit with 5.56 will have a much more disabling effect on the target than a miss with 7.62.

Being able to call in A10's for CAS is definitely nice. They only have to get close with 30x173 High Explosive Incendiary to remove bad people.

Depends on what I want to do. Accuracy, you are absolutely right. Up to 50 yards, I don't see a difference. Comfort wise, I prefer the AK but the AR platform is the superior one when going above 50 yards. I have hunted with the AK platform but that was when the range was about 50 yards.

Better sights don't matter to me. In fact, I was pleased with the Browning X-bolt I got because it has screws for the scope mount and NO sights. I never shoot with iron sights. All my guns are scoped except the home defense guns.

Either way, you can get the AR platform WITH 7.62X51 or something different in caliber.
