Free energy? Infinite loop power source?

I thought it was impossible until I saw this. Granted, he had to start it with regular electricity but after he unplugged it, I think it would go forever. What is the catch? Where does the no free lunch part come in?

3000 Watt Generator Powers Itself, Grinder & Drill Press. - YouTube

Physicists, please chime in. There has to be a catch.

rscurtis 12-17-2012 05:36 PM

Not going to happen. That motor is being powered by a source you can't see.

cmac2012 12-17-2012 05:42 PM

Who knows. Must be a catch. If he'd discovered something that actually worked, he'd be filthy rich by now.

Botnst 12-17-2012 06:25 PM

First law of thermodynamics: Heat and work are forms of energy transfer. Energy is invariably conserved but the internal energy of a closed system changes as heat and work are transferred in or out of it. Equivalently, perpetual motion machines of the first kind are impossible.

Second law of thermodynamics: The entropy of any isolated system not in thermal equilibrium increases.

That guy will make a lot of money and then eventually end up in jail.

He's even better than he appears in the video. He's hooked the scam up with religion. Here's his website: http://www.witts.ws/

Here's another of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgEsSOphlp8

Notice how his response to the comments direct the writer to the 'gifts' page on his website.

barry12345 12-17-2012 07:33 PM

Perpetual motion machines alone are impossible in the earths atmosphere. Mind them doing actual work. Or at least to the extent of mans current knowledge.

There would have to be unknows to discover yet even to give it a chance and even then it still most likely will not be possible.

Phillytwotank 12-17-2012 07:43 PM

hear the motor slow down a little when he switches on the drill press? It may work for a short time but its not infinite.

Perpetual motion?

You don't get something for nothing, that is unless you're one of the millions of people that mooch off the government.

There is no such thing as a free power source.. Good ole laws of thermodynamics.

Do you have anything available on the "Dark Side" of the Moon? :D

X2.

There is never a free lunch.

Interesting how this individual went to great lengths to make a video that is patently false.

Zulfiqar 12-18-2012 09:50 AM

as Botnst said.. x2

You never have been elected to a high federal post? In some ways if you are corrupt enough it has got to be there.:D

In Canada if you are elected and favored you get to sit on various arangements for forty thousand a pop or more. Thats if you attend or not. The general public is just told you get perhaps 200k a year. I would think most congessmen are nailing down more than enough to consider it a free luch at least. Excuse my cynical ways I just cannot help it.

Sadly no...........or I might change my opinion regarding a "free lunch".

...........you and me both........

I have an inflatable bridge that will get them to their new real estate...;)

Reaching over that open belt gives me a chill.

A nice closed loop? Great illustration though of concept.

My offer is better. Upon personal inspection if it does not meet your needs I will give you twice the money back. I also gaurantee nobody else has title and you will never be disturbed.

I once wondered how much Florida swamp land got unloaded during the heyday of selling it sight unseen.

Charge goes one way, electrons the other, in perfectly balanced harmony. It's a miracle the wire doesn't heat-up and melt.

barry12345 12-19-2012 08:58 AM

Another thing I noticed is the several empty plug sockets on that bar. . I would define them as feel good sockets.. It may make you happy to plug things into them.

For sure it will not increase your electric bill. Most energy efficient device I have seen in awhile.

TwitchKitty 12-19-2012 09:26 AM

When I was younger, long legs, an 18 inch waist and a good suntan gave me infinite energy.

The Clk Man 12-19-2012 09:29 AM

I plan on inventing a perpetual motion free energy machine while on vacation
next week. Wish me luck. :D

TwitchKitty 12-19-2012 10:56 AM

Maybe a tidal energy system inside a water bed. For older or fatter people it could be harvesting sonic energy from snoring. Methane could be a base for other models.

chasinthesun 12-19-2012 11:17 AM

Coffee drink ,dribble ,spray, breathe .Thats the real loop ,the poop loop.

Dubyagee 12-19-2012 07:51 PM

Ive got it! Use a generator to charge a large bank of batteries, vent the hydrogen produced by the charging back to the generators engine and presto!

Wait! Ive got a better one! String copper wire from one satellite to the next until it surrounds the whole magnetic earth, tie it into the grid and make the planet generate infinite energies! Then sell oil to the dumber countries for infinite profits!

Take that climate change!

TANSTAAFL

Come on folks. There are way better hucksters on YouTube than that guy. If you have to have one of these machines; let me or Layback40 build it for you. I promise mine will work as good as that one, maybe better, since I'd at least tighten the belt*.

* The loose belt may be a necessary part of the deception.

How right you are except I thought perpetual was everlasting. Government spending cannot be everlasting as at some point they will run out of other peoples money and at the rate they are increasing the rate of takers compared to payers it looks a lot sooner than later. I am preparing so that it does not effect it me to harshly when two days after i turn sixty seven years of age they proclaim there is no more money because I had not paid enough into it from 1975 to 2027!

panZZer 12-20-2012 04:37 PM

Well pissin off the wife will get you a perpetual energy engine for free, not much fun in bed!
