Will The Mercedes Be Redesigned for 2003?

Someone told me today that Mercedes would be redesigned for 2003. Is it true?

What time of the year does the new model year come out? Sep/Oct?

Tks.

I probably should have asked my questions a little differently.

I am planning on buying a E430 this summer. But if the car is going to be redesigned, I would wait on the 2003.

So, is the E430 going to be redesigned in 2003?

Yes, it's going to be a new design. But unless you're absolutely sure you hate the current E-Class and definitely sure you'll love the next generation E, you should consider the current model. It's not a "bad" car by any means, and there are tons of good deals out there.

I would wait for the E500, it will be much better than the old 210.
Check it out here.

There are tons more pictures out there so do your research.
I would wait untill the new one is in show rooms and then look at it and see how much you like it.

211 chassis article in Autoweek this week

i just got Autoweek yesterday with the article on the 211 chassis.
Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC) standard. Airmatic standard on E500 and optional on E320.
I still would harbor thoughts of avoiding the first year as well.
One thing you can probably get on a 211 that isn't available on the 210 is Keyless Go, I would love to have that feature!!!

I would wait for the new model. Lots of cool new stuff and it looks great. I don't believe that stuff about the first model year where Mercedes is concerned. This isn't Ford were talking about. I kknow plenty of people who have bought first year models after major changes like the S-Class, SL-Class, E-Class and so on that have not had any problems at all. Undoubtably there will be some changes and additions to the new model as well as the years go by, but you're still ahead of the current model.

There's a picture of the new E in R&T. It's lower and sleeker, I like, I like!
