My arteries are going to stage a revolt tonight...

I last made this about 3 years ago...and suffered greatly of heartburn. Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf!!

The kids have begged me for this, so here it is right before heading into the oven, right before the glaze...

After the brown sugar and ketchup glaze...

It's in the oven right now, filling the house with the scent of heaven...

Mashed potatoes and buttered corn will round out the full dinner.

2 parts ground chuck
1 part ground pork
1 part venison

Mix it as you would a normal meatloaf, wrap in a bacon weave, glaze with equal parts of ketchup and Heinz 57 with a couple of tablespoons of brownsugar and bake at 350 till done, about 90 minutes.

Nice. Wild game, especially venison adds a whole new level of flavor to something like that. Did you bag the deer yourself?

I can't get out and hunt...health won't allow it. I know a few guys that hunt for sport, and I pay for their tags. I pay a guy to dress it out, and then fill the freezer.

The irony in this post, considering the thread topic, made me spit out my coffee!

Damned waste of good Bailey's!

How's your ticker doing Stone?

Pure coincidence. Last visit to my Cardio a few weeks ago. AICD reading was nearing last quarter of battery life. So, I ask the doc if it will last till May? Time is precious till 4/16. Sure he says.;
Yesterday my low battery alarm beeped at 1:30, again at 7:30.... 6 hour repeat. Guess I'll have the alarm turned off if it gets to be a nuisance.

To JP... My angina in its earliest form felt for all the world like acid indegestion. The fires of hell just below and beneath the sternum.

Are you still smoking or were you able to kick it?
Ever had a stress test. I strongly advise any male over 40 to have one.

I'm sure Stone will agree with me.

There's some comfort knowing I'm not the only one who enjoys "syrup" in their Sunday morning coffee.

That looks fantastic, jp! You had me at bacon...
