Would you? Well, would you?

How do those here feel about taking the last porkchop? At a family dinner there's one left after everyone's eaten. Would you take The Last Porkchop?

Hell yeah. If nobody else wanted it. I'd ask around first though.

I have teenaged children...it's eat, or be eaten. In other words...if I'm done before anyone else, and I want it, it's mine.

No. I would not.

But then, I don't really like pork chops. So I probably wouldn't take the first one either. Or any of them, for that matter.

Talking

I ask if anyone else wants it first as many members do. Then I escallate it to does anyone want at least half? Many times even although initially the response was no out of common courtesy they will take half. For some odd reason when the wife cooks pork chops she usually cooks more than will be eaten. The only meat she usually does this with come to think of it. Other than turkey that is.

If you have the slightest brain in your head you should never ask a wife to cook something like your mother once did. Two porkchops roasted in the oven with a seasoned bread dressing between them and sewn together remain nice and moist and taste pretty good. Just one item from my distant past I no longer enjoy. Overall though the wife is a very skilled cook.

I can even imagine perhaps she thinks that is one reason I was attracted to her originally. I am honest enough to say it perhaps was other things. The cooking ability was just an unexpected bonus.

I used to be a big fan of pork chops, but lately the GF has been experimenting with pulled pork and pork shoulder, and now im sold on other things than chops.

She makes this one dish which is pulled pork from the shoulder with some kind of honey mustard thin dipping sauce and vegetables simmered in the pork brine, and each new dish is my new favorite.

It always amazes me how many different ways you can enjoy pork.

To answer the OP, I would make sure my cousin isnt there with his pork fetish, then ask around if anyone wants it knowing they all don't, then eat it.
If my cousin IS there, I think first I would create some kind of diversion, then grab the pork chop before he could react

+1 on that!

We raised two athletic sons. If you weren't quick enough reaching for the last of anything all you pulled back was a bloody stub!

Leave it & hope no one grabs it. Then have a pork chop sandwich for lunch the next day. Its best to quickly help take the serving plates to the kitchen !!
