Home audio advice needed...
When we built this house I had speaker wire run to three exterior locations: carport, back porch and a small sitting area on the south side. The wire (two channels to each location) is all run back to a cabinet in the living area where I intend to put a receiver/amp, another pair of speakers and a speaker selector switch. The idea is to be able to run an iPod or iTunes to the amp and them on to one or all speakers as desired.
Any suggestions on a 4-6 zone switch and rcvr/amp? Some sort of rack mount isn't out of the question. Doesn't have to be audiophile quality since I have tinitius and it is getting worse by the day. Just something to be able to play tunes when there's a party or lounging around reading...

Speaker switches are easy to find, but check the specs so that you get one that protects the amp if the speakers are all switched off and there's no load visible to the amp.
What are you plans for controlling the volume levels in each zone? |

In situations like this, I've always used a Niles SS-4 or SS-6 with very good results when attached to a standard home stereo receiver.

Thanks all! I am reluctant to go with the Pyle equipment since the reviews on Amazon are about 50/50 bad/good. Given my luck I know which side I would land on.
Will look further into the Niles brand.
