Gunshow Protest...

Outside of the Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show in Dayton, Ohio, a show I used to frequent at least 3 times a year, was protested against during their last show. That's not news, because there's always an idiot or three outside of the shows, stirring the pot and fanning the flames of stupidity.

What is news, but wasn't reported, is the fact that the organizer of the latest protest, one of the largest in the history of the show, is a CONVICTED RAPIST!!

Yup...a convicted rapist wants lawful gun owners to give up their arms.

None of the multiple news organizations vetted this asshat prior to reporting on the protest.

Of course he wants no one to have a gun. If he gets caught in the act, he certainly doesn't want the person that catches him to be armed.

About 20 or so years ago, before the Texas CCW program, there was a guy caught in the act of raping a woman in a shopping center parking lot in Irving, Texas. The gunowner blew the guy away on the spot. No indictment, no nothing. They might have given him a marksmanship medal for the deed.

A rapist would NEVER want people armed knowing that this could happen to them.

Good everyone was armed to the teeth, so he could do no harm.

The pro gun folks are like the man with a hammer as his only tool (everything starts looking like a nail!).

Every situation can be solved with a gun.

I can see a few potential pitfalls in the shooting a rapist on the spot thing.....suppose nobody will confirm the rape was happening?

well, if it happened in some of the muslim controlled countries, you could shoot the woman too, because the rape was certainly her fault.....even a baby....

Well, I have a few rifles that would serve as a suitable substitute for a hammer. They are accurate enough to drive nails with. Be alot more fun than using a hammer.

Would you have preferred that the fellow in Irving simply get in his car and drive away, or perhaps call the police, so that the rapist could have his way with her for another 30 minutes?

Not only will THAT guy never rape again, I would venture to guess that at least a FEW n'er do wells thought twice about misbehaving in that neighborhood. The rapist deserved nothing less.

BTW, there was no trouble confirming the rape. It was right out there in the parking lot. The shooter was not the only person seeing it happen.

Wouldn't of worked if it was "Two Minute Tommy".

I am one of the Pro Gun Folks and I don't fell that way.

A real Hammer is a actually a special Tool. As a Mechanic you have to have one or more becaues in the end nothing replaces it or works as well.

Nothing replaces a Gun either.

Pitfalls; out here the Family of the Rapist would be sueing for excessive force if the Shooter did not give the Rapist a chance to stop and give Himself up.

Since when do convicted criminals have a right to express their opinions?

true, but there is a certain amount of hard edged irony to a rapist (hienous POS) wanting to outlaw certain guns. sounds a bit self serving......

Since when or where in the provided links or the posts to this thread has anyone except yourself make the implication that convicted criminals don't have every right to express their opinions? Coddle much?

Read "Will" by G.Gordon Liddy ...

http://www.amazon.com/Will-Autobiography-G-Gordon-Liddy/dp/0312119151/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360014579&sr=1-1&keywords=will+g+gordon+liddy

Publication Date: November 15, 1996

From soldier to Washington insider; from a prisoner who preferred the walls of a prison rather than the betrayal of his principles; to a writer and top radio personality, G. Gordon Liddy is a hero to some, a villain to others, but always an enigma.

In 1980, G. Gordon Liddy shocked, surprised, and, ultimately, delighted the world with his vivid, brutally honest, and controversial autobiography, Will. A number one national bestseller in both hardcover and paperback, Will has stood the test of time like few other books. With over 1,000,000 copies in print, it is nothing less than a quintessential American biography-a classic story of a life interestingly led.

I really don't believe you could be that incurious and unobservant.
