I visited Stockholm 25 years ago via train from Germany. What I remember most was how cool it was that the train drove onto the ferry boat, and then back off when you reached Sweden. The scenery was OK, although I am jaded having lived in coastal California all my life. I also remember paying about $10 for a beer and $25 for a hamburger, so I could only afford to stay for a few days. The people were very friendly to Americans at that time, but I don't know if that is still true. The woman were not what I expected, but that coastal California thing could have influenced that as well.
