I started thinking about where I had stored ammo in the past and found a 500 round brick in the back of a drawer still sealed in plastic with a $9.30 price tag on it. I think I bought it about 1995 or so. I also found an almost full box of Stingers back there.

I will wait until all this hype cools down before buying any more, if my supply can hold out. I have roughly about another 300 .22 rounds besides those.

I press out my shotgun, pistol and centerfire rifle ammo, and I have a good supply of components except my supply of primers is a little limited. I am hearing that primers are pretty tough to come by now too.

Was cleaning my kitchen and found a spam can of 7.62x39
My neighbor just bought an SKS so we've been watching the price of this ammo. I bought some before Christmas via mail order for 24c a round shipped. he bought some last week for 35c a round. and just sent me a message this morning that the only store with some in stock today is selling it for 40c a round.

\When I lived in San Francisco and went to the Presbyterian church on Van Ness, I had a couple of friends in Bible Stiudy from DFW.

They had brought with them from Dallas, a huge Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser station wagon. (like this)

The license frame - said: "Dallas - GUNN OLDSMOBILE".

I asked about that and they said, "Oh yeah, everyone calls the owner "POP" Gunn!!!

I vaguely remember Gunn Oldsmobile, but I hadn't heard the "Pop" part before.

Not to take away from your humorous post, but I think I remember Gunn Oldsmobile from it being on the back of my Uncles Olds when I was a kid in Killeen. I think they were in Texas, but maybe in Austin or Waco or somewhere rather than Dallas. Still very funny though.

This is probably the most egregious example of gouging I've seen since The Stupidity began.

I saw on a gunowner site that it appears that .22 ammo is averaging a current price increase of about 500%. I didn't do the math, but that is what people were saying.

Disregard the cost, get it before Obama comes knocking on their door! Ah, the era of fiscal responsibility.

I'm not buying any of it. Once the panic is over the price will come down. It will never be as low as it was, but it will come back down.

That makes sense. My uncle went to San Antone quite a bit.

Sure dropped like a girlfriend with clap around here. I bought several bricks really cheap from a store that had over-ordered. Just give it time.

If I had one of those AR variants I'd buy a reloader and learn something useful and stock-up on empties at the local ranges.
