air conditioner freezing up

i am new here as of 30minutes ago if this is not the correct place to ask why is the air conditioner on my 89 560 freezing up after 45 to 60 minutes of hwy driving on short trips it is ok cut the new guy some slack thanks in advance for any help beau

This is mostly a gun control forum these days but AC is ok.

Is it winter where your car is?

Low refrigerant charge can cause that.

Are you saying that "snow" is coming out of your vents?
