OD numbers - (5) registered / (118) non-registered peanut gallery?
It's going on Midnight Friday, and I see in the stats section of OD this:
Currently Active Users: 123 (5 members & 118 guests) Skid Row Joe, spdrun, tbomachines --- Regular members, and (2) regular members choose to be hidden members - prolly BrianCarlton being one of the two. My Q is, who are these "118" ppl reading OD?? Is OD that tantalizing that 118 ppl somewhere on the globe find it all that interesting, yet choose not to be a poster? There are a total of (5) of us regulars at this hour, which I think is about right for this hour. Anybody venture why so many 'non-registereds' would find OD so enticing? I mean, they can't all be BBs can they? |

on my phone before bed haha. Totally called me on it though, well done! I'd guess 188 non registered people from search results.

I think some of the 118 are those automated crawlers that suck up information for search engines - after all if it is written in OD it must be true.

I raised this issue a few years ago. It appears we have many closet OD members.

I'm betting on the liberal conspiracy theory. That Dang Holder is behind it!

Agree on the idea that most of them are likely "spiders" from search engines.

They are the various incarnations of banned members waiting, waiting, waiting, and looking for someone - anyone - to mention them….. so their empty lethargic shell of a life has a thin façade of wholeness, if only for a moment. They just can't let go..................
Nah, really, those brainless bots and spiders show up without end and bounce around existing only to push random buttons without cogent thought or intent. They are to internet forums what spam is to email. Oh, wait, that implies that they are just like..... |
