Pistorius charged with murder...

Wow.

Who DIDN'T root for this guy in the Olympics?

I'm hopeful that it was an accident, but at this point I'm having trouble understanding how that could really happen.

Quote:
Olympics and Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius was charged Thursday with the murder of his girlfriend who was shot inside his home in South Africa, a stunning development in the life of a national hero known as the Blade Runner for his high-tech artificial legs.

Reeva Steenkamp, a model who spoke out on Twitter against rape and abuse of women, was shot four times in the predawn hours in the home, in a gated community in the capital, Pretoria, police said.

If he pleads self defense I don't think that he will have a leg to stand on.

^ ^ Oh ouch.

Hard to say. Unfortunately it provides grist for the mill for them who point out the stats that privately owned handguns are about 4 times more likely to kill oneself, a friend, or a loved one than they are to kill or otherwise stop an intruder.

Roses are red, violets are glorious, never creep up On Oscar Pistorius.

Anyone making jokes about Oscar Pistorius is just prosthetic!

Too many Oscar Pistorius jokes already. Trying to come up with a new one is like taking a shot in the dark.

And the Oscar goes to.... Jail

New evidence has been found outside the Pistorius home that completely acquits him of his girlfriend's murder.

Footprints.

She didn't notice Oscar sneaking up behind her. It was the silence of the limbs.

I see what Pistorius is doing. He is going to jail for 25 years and when he gets released... Bam! President of South Africa. That's how it works over there, right?

When Oscar Pistorius said he wanted to be just like able bodied athletes, who knew he meant OJ Simpson?

First Tiger Woods, then Lance Armstrong, and now Oscar Pistorius. I think Nike should start telling their athletes "Don't Do It"

They were going to release him on bail but had no where to put the ankle monitoring device.

It does not sound too good for him based on the information being published. He has admitted shooting her but says he thought she was an intruder. Shot five or six times? Yikes!

The neighbors say they heard loud arguing right up to the shooting (more or less).

All those foot and leg jokes are too lame! (see you cannot help it!)

He was a great athlete, but his temper was his achilles heel.

At the hearing he fell on his knees and begged for mercy.

Bad jokes aside, there are some odd twists in this story. The lead investigator has been thrown off the case.

The reason?

He's suspected of attempted murder.

Sadly, this is not another bad joke.

Never trust an armed person even if he has no legs.

That's bizarre.
