Dodge bringing out 1500 series in a diesel

Bout time. Take a look at the engine they are using. Wonder how long before we see the Toyota turbo diesel Hilux.

Dodge diesel

Awesome. It looks like more and more diesels are finally coming around.

Dodge trucks are no more. It's call "Ram" now.

I've read it's the same motor offered in the Jeep Grand Cherokee a 3.0l diesel built by VM Motori in Italy.
Here is some internal shots of the motor in a Banks flavor.
Inside The Banks VM Motori 3.0L 630T V6 Diesel Engine - Diesel Power Magazine

It appears they are only offering up a 8 speed ZF automatic.

None of the modern diesel domestics offer the carrying capacity in a van configuration because of the heavier powerplants and the modern euro options don't offer the dimensional capacity or carrying capacity and/or diesel option. This looks promising. The upfit and configuration options are impressive.
