No warning about the arrival either. Makes us all more aware of many possibilities.

I have to wonder if it would be even advisable to warn of a major strike as there is nothing we could really do about it. The resultant panic might be very bad before it's arrival.

As of now one major one could sneak in under the radar. In such a fashion there may be no warning at all. It was only a year or two ago a large one passed undetected untill going by. Big enough to take us all out. It was pretty close as well.

There will be a major hit sometime to extinguish most if not all life forms on this planet is a certainty. How many times this has occured before is an unknown. When is the question for the next one as major strikes are so random.

Well, we know he can't aim worth a crap.

Fast forward a future path of an asteriod ,view different angles of its approach ,its all their to view .Theirs a few that are much bigger in our near future .

I read the NYT story yesterday and the part of the article that got my attention was about an elementary school teacher that saw a bright flash of light through the window, she immediately had the children dive under their desks. She had no idea what was happening, but the cold war "duck and cover" drill saved the kids from the flying glass when the windows exploded. The teacher was injured due to the glass, but not a single child was cut.
