Shipping a crate overseas...

Friend in Europe wants a Harley so bad that he's willing to buy a totaled/beatup one and ship it to one of the European ports to pickup/fix and hopefully enjoy.

Has anyone done that?! Curious about rules/regs/fees for such a deal?! Where do I look for that?

Sometimes people on Expedition Portal ship containers to Europe and look to share some room in them. I'd probably ship it as used parts.

Try Adventure Rider Motorcycle Forum. There are a number of folks who ship bikes to Europe to ride there.

Done this with a 617 engine, England uk and pretty much everyone overseas if you ship conventionally, you'll need a special pallet. If you container ship it i don't know the regs... Building your own crate you'll need an international standard pallet, the plastics terex stuff and plywood with plys less then 1mm thick I think it was.

Depending on cost considerations, DHL has a motorcycle specific size container at a set cost, might be worth checking into.

Here is the DHL page to start with
