Check a W211 Bluetec for me in Irvine, CA?

Considering picking-up a new to me, used W211 Bluetec. Anyone that's located in Irvine, CA. that would be willing to check one out for me, would be most appreciated.

I could take a look at it tomorrow if you have serious interest in it.

Is it at a dealer or a person's house?

MTUpower 02-15-2013 10:57 PM

anyone seen one of these?

I've see a bunch at the dealer. Are you referring to damaged ones like in the pick or just the car in general?

I appreciate your response, Suginami, but I received an email two hours ago stating that the car was no longer available. It was at a dealer, which is the only place that I am wanting to buy a used car of this vintage from.

The car spent it's life in Corona Del Mar, so I was thinking it may be just what would appeal to me in it's care. The pics were 100% right-on, I decided this afternoon to ask for a member to see it in-person for me - but I just dragged my feet too long - it's been available for over a week, in that timeframe I decided I wanted it. Too late.

If one pops up in that area, I'll keep you in mind. Cars, just like real estate, always pop up for sale.

That damaged 2012 may be an issue getting the sheet metal etc at prices that make it viable. Also if the under carriage is bent makes it even more questionable. I suspect it might very well be.

I see a fair quantity of fairly new expensive type cars at the largest body shop in our area just sitting and waiting for body parts even for weeks sometimes.

the car in general. I checked MB USA and they do not seem to list it.

Its just a C250, basic 4 banger C class.

I wouldn't touch a smashed one with a 10ft pole, just buy a new one they are the least expensive Mercedes you can buy in this country.

I'm interested in your '99 Joe:).

Isn't "blue efficiency" code for diesel? MB USA's site indicates the 250 is a gas engine.

It's been a really good car for me. Owned since July '99.

The '99 lacks about 5 to 7 things to completely get it sorted out as it should be. But nothing that would keep it from being driven a lot more miles without spending $s on it.

RE: ?WHY a W211 Bluetec.....?
After reading <a thread here in Diesel Forum> about the vagaries and questionable desirability of even wanting a W212 E350 Bluetec versus a W211 E320 Bluetec - I thought I'd better get busy in finding a new-to-me, 4-5 year old W211 Bluetec sedan. I'm through buying MBs new - that's just throwing money away BIGTIME!

The 2011 W212s (E350 Bluetecs) are being dumped on the market OFF-LEASE right now. Dozens and dozens a day are entering the used market at really attractive prices....... Heck, you can get in one (W212 E350) for not much more than the particular, low mileage W211 E320 Bluetec I am searching for........but do I want the W212 Bluetec? I'm thinking, no, I do not want one with it's adblue deal, and possible catalytic exhaust replacement down the line.

TMAllison made the jump, so I thought that I'd get in line for one too.

There is a C250 diesel and a gasser, little bit confusing.

Last time I was at the deal about 4 months ago or so they had a butt load. It's a 1.8l turbo putting out about 200hp. mileage is so-so at 20/30 but seems like a nice little car.

You are thinking of Bluetec.

I don't think the diesel is happening till next year. Right now there are only 2 C250's (Luxury and Sport) as far as the MBUSA site is concerned.
