What did I just agree to???

My wife and daughter have both been bugging me to let them either braid my mustache, or curl it with a small curling iron. I lost the flip of a coin, and get to be a guinea pig and allow them to have fun with this thing.

I used to keep it trimmed and looking well groomed, but since I'm no longer able to get out, I've let it grow out. They measured the length today from the bottom of my chin, and it's 7" long now and bushy. My last hospital stay a few months ago, they had to shave spots on my chest to get the leads to stick right. The nurse didn't move the mustache out of the way, and I lose 4" off of one side...my wife wasn't to happy about that.

Tomorrow afternoon ought to be interesting...

That's impressive, but mine's not like that. I have a Fumanchu. I had a healthy set of lambchops that were about 4" long, but got rid of those after they put me on a full-face CPAP. The elastic head gear was putting a huge dip in them, like a bad case of hat-hair. No amount of conditioner helped that.

Oh, I know. But just envision it without the beard section. ;):)

Beautiful! :D

I saw one guy in a UT Costco that competed with his. It came off each side of his face about 3 foot in each direction, extremely straight, with 2" tips turned up at a right angle. He had to walk through doors sideways. It was an amazing thing.

Seriously, the only thing I miss since developing alopecia is growing various styles of facial hair. I'm living vicariously through you, jp. :D

Well...this was yesterday morning, right after waking up. They didn't give me a chance to get the first cup of coffee in me before they flashed this picture.

After I get back from the doctor appointment, my daughter will start in on braiding it. After I got out of the shower this morning, my wife took a straightener to it, to give my daughter a blank canvas later.

According to some competition rules, they measure from the corners of the mouth, not the bottom of the chin. Using that as a starting point, it's 9.5" on each side after being straightened.

That's cheating...Not only does he have wires supporting it from his hat, he also has a wire inside that 'stache. I've seen him pop up on a few shows over the years...that thing is EPIC!!

Man! If that's what your 'stache looks like BEFORE you have caffeine then it's got to be a wild one after it wakes up!

Well...she tried braiding it, but due to the fact that it grows from halfway down my neck, it didn't work for her too well.

Below is what they came up with after an hour of trying different things.

Letting the ladies do this to me gave them a bonding moment...and me an hour or so of making faces at them each time they'd pull the hairs. LOL
