I've sure as heck been poor. And I have lived with poor people in the USA and foreign countries.

More than a few people have called me stupid. My brother was the most consistent in calling me stupid.

When it comes to hospital costs, often times insurance plans specify which hospital the insured must go to, there is no choice. Once the insurance coverage reaches the limit the insured then is on the hook for the rest of the bills at a hospital which the insured may not have chosen.

If the US had zero unemployment at the end of day and everyone worked steady for a year, how many people would still be just as bad off at the end of the year?

The system doesn't work for everyone. It can't possibly work for everyone. It was never intended to work for everyone.

Sorry to intrude with reality. You can now go back to pretending.

Golly, perhaps one should look at policies that are more in conformity with one's desires.
