Calculation question
 

kinda pertains to my other topic going on here 'a question for you legal minds ' anyone who is good at math care to calculate cubic feet?

the beginning of the source is approx 38-40' narrows down to roughly 15' estimated height is 3 inches. anyone wanna take a stab at it?

Need the length or two angles.

total length of the area in cocern i would say is 80 foot

+/- 10 feet... more plus then minus

only needed for an accurate answer; not required for "any" answer.

Volume of trapezoid prism.

V = h(a+b) * L

h = total length
a = area of face a (one of the ends (not top or bottom) = (width of large face * depth)
b = area of other face b = (width of small face * depth)
L = depth

Put that puppy into Excel and vary your different measurements in 3 columns with the formula reading from the columns. You'll get a range of volumes. Oh yeah, make sure all measurements are in the same units.

I think that's got it.

If the length is 80 feet and the width begins at 40' and narrows to 15' at the end of the 80' length, the total volume is 550 cubic feet.

I also got 550 cubic feet, which is about 20 cubic yards.
