Interesterified Fat -- Is it Worse Than Trans Fat?

Interesterified Fat Is it Worse Than Trans Fat

Quote:
By Dr. Mercola

It was inevitable that food manufacturers and the edible oil industry would find a substitute for trans fats, now that consumer backlash is forcing the issue.

After all, we’re talking big business here. Over 90 percent of the money Americans spend on food is spent on the processed stuff.

Now that the health dangers of trans fats have been clearly exposed, the food industry would do you a great favor by returning to the use of natural saturated fats for frying and in baked goods. But that would mean reversing their entirely unscientific, 50-year campaign to vilify saturated fats, and would bring an end to the enormously powerful edible oil industry.

Since that’s not about to happen, it’s time for a quick review of the bad news about trans fats, followed by an investigation into what seems to be a fast-growing substitute: interesterified fats.
Health care reform is a bad joke without reforming the food industry.

Give the FDA some teeth?

Maybe they need some integrity first?

Maybe allow insurance companies to raise your rates if you eat at McDonalds??

Ive been on a diet for 1 month know and I have to tell you the facts about the saying "you are what you eat "is very true.I nutritionist lady friend I work with has given me alot of info to work with along the way.The facts are I weighed 216lbs feb 1st ,mar 1st I weighed 205lbs,and april 1st I hope to be at 197lbs.This is done with just food control ,I only eat fruits veggies and one coarse at night with either chicken or fish .The foods you stay away from are anything fried ,sweets ,Cheese ,heavy sauces ,potatoes ,breads and hi carbed anything which can include peanuts ,pecans etc etc.I dont exercise except for yard work and still have a few beers at night ,just light beer.Somekind of fruit for brkfst ,thats it, chicken with salad with light dressing for lunch and a gluten free bread for lunch ,at night its a fish or chicken baked meal with a side of veggies .Simple easy no real hunger pains and the weight falls off.Its interesting to learn that your stomach will shrink as the diet progresses and you will fill full after eating smaller portions. Its the knowledge that alot restuarant chains already have known for years ,they give you larger portions ,more than enough your body needs, to top off an already over sized stomach so you fill full .Then you turn right back around and go back for more of the same .A long chain of eating bad habits can change quickly if you just make that decision to take it on with no exceptions to breaking the guide lines of the diet.Believe me ,the first month provides you your own inspiration and charges you up to keep going.I completed this same diet 3 yrs ago and got down to 185lb ,so my goal is another 2 months away but it will happen since it is easy to maintain.
