That might just mean that "diesels are generally more expensive (new and used). Therefore people who can afford the initial outlay will buy."

Without 280hp to get to the next red light, the diesel owner can't really be too brilliant. Somebody else with a gasser might get in front of him and he'd be a moron to let that happen.

Yarp. I had fun beating a guy in a SLC500(?) the other day...he was swapping lanes and gunning it at every go. Looking ahead in the 90hp DD, I was able to sit next to him at the light without passing 3,000rpm

happens everyday with me, I just let the car glide and am usually at the red light next to the tyre burner of the previous light.

That's got to aggravate the hotshoe.

I don't think the article was about People buying under $2,000 Diesel Cars or Trucks.

All of the Gasoline powered Cars I have owned like My, Toyota Corona, 177 cubic inch Plymouth Valiant or several Chevy Chevettes I have owned have been low powered Cars.

So, going Diesel was not much different.

Now the Chevy Astro Van I own is another matter. If you drive the Van for a week or 2 the fist day of driving the Mercedes takes a bit of adjustment.

A friend has a Chevy Astro and it really sucks (gas that is)
And compared to the automatic 240D I used to have, my stickshift 240D feels 500 pounds lighter!

The diesel E class has some of the cheapest leases you can get, high residual. One of the guys I sail with said he is paying $505 a month with zero down, not bad really.

Modern diesels are to complicated though, I'd rather just buy gas and spend a bit extra on fuel. More so in my state because diesel runs almost $1 a gallon more than 87 octane.

The thought of owning a 10 year old 2012 E320 Bluetec is scary for my wallet.

Driving a little Suzuki Samurai during the winter with no modifications is fun when watching the large SUVs and pickups floor it , weaving in and out to beat the next guy by a car length, never mind road conditions such as rain and snow.
Watching them slam on the brakes at the next light, while I just putter up along right behind or next to them is a real hoot.
Mind you, I do the same when driving the Camaro Z28.
What's your hurry? We'll get to the same destination in 15 miles along this traffic light filled road within 10 seconds of each other.
When in the TD, if they see the Diesel badge, they instantly change lanes to pass.
And then I end up along side them again.:)

No.........they will beat you by one minute..........that's important, you know.

my car is missing the DIESEL badge and also does not smoke, I believe thats why people honk at me when I easily speed it up. And they pass me at 70 mph while Im doing 40 in a 45 zone.

Those people are even smarter!!!
