Opportunity on a 1991 BMW 325i
Got one in the shop that the head is going to have to come off of. Lot's of oil in the coolant. I have an option to purchase it. I think I'll get the head off before I make the decision. Can't see where I need another project. Good looking little car. It has an automatic, is showing 80k and is clean as a whistle.

Weren't the ZF slushboxes in BMWs of that era known for trouble? If you replace the engine, it might be the time to plop a real transmission in there as well.

There were some ZF applications in BMW's of that era which were notorious for lunching themselves during state emission tests that involved revving the engine for a period of time when the trans was in Park or Neutral. Not hard to look up on the web.
