Depends on what you mean by "didn't write the Torah". I hold to Mosaic authorship, but, realize that he couldn't record his own death. Somebody else appended that. But IMO, that doesn't call for the wholesale rejection of Moses as the author.

Torah is the first 5 books of the Christian Old Testament.

How old is it?
In a nutshell, the Christian Bible was written over about 1600 years by a large number of people in Greek and a couple other ancient languages - Aramaic and Latin, I think.

The modern bible is composed of documents collected over time, one of the most recognizable of which is the Dead Sea Scrolls. In the middle 1500's, a bunch of dudes known as the "Council of Trent" met in Italy and composed the modern Bible by deciding which documents or books were going to be kept and which removed. Some of these decisions are still up for debate.

Besides the standard Jewish and Christian Bibles, there is another version with a section called the "Apocrypha".

Apocrypha is in the Roman Catholic version. I think some Anglican versions have the apocrypha, too.

The real Bible was written in Elizabethan English under the authority of an English king of Scottish-French descent. His Parliament was targeted by the gunpowder plot.

I always find it curious that people pray and speak in church in King James English as if they believe that it's the "language" of the bible.

I have read that the Koran was written by folks who just followed the Islamic Prophet around and wrote down what he said.

There are supposed to be three books of the Prophet's sayings: The Koran, which is supposed to be words given to him by Allah; the True Sayings, which are things he said that were just his opinions and not Allah's but still worth writing down; and the Ascribed Sayings, which are things that are supposed to have been said by the Prophet but a lot of folks are not really so sure about this.

I was once told by someone who was supposed to know that the Ascribed Sayings were just a bunch of stuff that somewhere along the line someone wished he had said because it backed up their opinion on something.

I am sure there is someone out there that can go into greater detail on this subject. I am not a Muslim.

Have you tried Wikipedia?
