I went to the dark side - they had cookies

For my b-day I was given a 750il. 1992 is pretty good shape. Sat for a long time but started up occasionally.

This should be interesting. I have enough issues with the 560SEL to take care of first!

Wow, someone hates you.

Seriously though, if its free and you can do repairs on a budget- could be cool!

V12! Schweeet! I would love to have a V12 if I thought I could keep it fueled and running.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll need it.

Oh, I thought you were talking about becoming a conductor. Musicians often refer tho the conductor as being from the dark side.

I'll get picks up soon I hope. Work will be very busy for me over the next week and a half. So much so I am not sure when I can even pick up the car to get it home.

I'd sell it to fund the 126 repairs. Seriously.

Oh, and happy birthday!

I have been window shopping for an 80s 5 or 6 series (manual only), but they seem to be hard to find now.

I frequently see these 90s 7 series at fire sale prices. Why is that? Are they money pits?

Money pit would be a bit of an understatement.

I had a 740i Sport, wan't any more expensive to maintain than any other Benz I've owned (except the E55, that was acceptable).

The car is in my garage. I must admit there is a pretty big difference in interior build quality between the W126 S class and this 92 7 Series. Its a ice car indeed, but there are a lot of little things that seem basic/cheaply made. Overall is certainly more refined and designed better, a lot more modern. But they did have the advantage against the aging S class.

Today the intake and valve covers come off for inspection. I will probably pick up a new battery too. There are a few things not working that I need to look into. Of course the rear window shade does not work. One of the rear side shades came off (the small one). The center window switches stay lit up all the time. The headliner is falling down - no defects, must be from sitting. Looks easy to take down though.
