Leaded gas - no thanks to air pollution. Lawn darts? Why the f**k not -- you can buy a high-powered crossbow in most states without so much as a driver's license. Why should lawn darts be illegal?

Recreational drugs is ilegal. Sodas are "designed" to make you a sugar addict. I see no difference; both cost society billions of dollars. I'm getting tired of paying for slobs.

This law was more like limiting weed sales to dime bags, but allowing people to purchase an unlimited quantity thereof. I'm surprised restaurants didn't love this law, since it would have allowed them to sell more small glasses of soda for the same price as bigger glasses before. (No one checks the price of soda before ordering!)

Many years ago I would buy the giant Big Gulp Soda, and the wife and 3 kids and myself would drink all that we wanted out of the one giant soda.

Sure, but nothing would keep you from buying two or five small sodas. Which is one reason why I disagree with the law -- it would just create more disposable cup waste.

I think a big difference between recreational drugs and sodas (to a certain extent) is the ability to effect the mind and thus effect others around you or by your actions. The chances of someone plowing through an intersection and killing people while having just finished soda is a lot less than that of someone who did some drugs of some caliber.

Oh granted they could be drinking the soda while driving and thus cause it...
