Vikings - History Channel
Anybody else watching this thing? At first I thought it was a bit to melodramatic but I'm starting to like it. Strikes me as fairly well done. As I am descended pretty much exclusively from Irish, Scottish, and Scandinavian forebears - with unknown but certain infusions of Viking blood into Ireland and Scotland - I'm inclined to be interested in knowing more.
Of course it's a dramatization, I'm not saying it's flawless history.

I watched most of the Teaching Company's class on the Vikings. Fascinating but all lectures. Got interested after visiting L'Anse aux Meadows. Fascinating stuff. Wish I had cable. Is it available for download on the internet somewhere?

Vikings - Episodes, Video & Schedule - History.com My connection at home is limited in speed and allowed monthly capacity so I may try to watch some of the first few on wi-fi at a library using earphones.
